Five weeks in — what I've actually learned (Saturday) 🐾
The thing this week made me realize about running a business. What I'd do differently. And what's coming next — a week I haven't told you about yet.
Saturday morning. Five weeks. Coffee is hot. Let’s talk.
Before this week I wondered if a small business week would feel too niche — like it might not land for people who don’t run a business. What I found instead: almost everyone either runs something, wants to run something, or knows someone who does. The Wednesday before-and-after post had some of the highest reply volume of any post I’ve written. Richard’s story about raising his rates especially — I got four separate messages from people saying “that was me reading that.”

What worked
✅ The thing that surprised me mostThe pricing content. I expected marketing copy to be the most relatable part of the week — it’s the most visible task. But the pricing conversation generated more emotional responses than anything else. I think because pricing isn’t really about math. It’s about how we value ourselves. And most people running a small business have never had anyone help them examine that out loud. AI creates a safe space to do it. That matters more than I expected.
✅ What resonated across all five weeksLooking back across the whole month: the thing that consistently generates the most response is when I share something personal and real — the message I’d been avoiding, the things I was too intimidated to learn, the stock market I didn’t understand for twenty years. The strategic stuff lands when it’s personal first. That’s the lesson I’m carrying into everything I build next.

What I’d do differently
💭 One honest changeI’d do a dedicated “AI for Etsy sellers” week at some point — the Etsy audience in particular has very specific needs (product photography descriptions, SEO titles, shop policies, customer reviews) that deserve their own full week. Linda’s candle story from Wednesday reminded me there’s a whole audience that I’ve only touched the surface of. That’s on my future content list now.

What’s coming next week
🔭 Week 6 · June 15–21
We’re doing something I’ve been asked about repeatedly — a full week on AI and your health. Not medical advice — never that. But using AI to be a more informed, more prepared, more empowered patient.
How to prepare for doctor’s appointments. How to understand diagnoses, test results, and medical terms in plain language. How to research a condition without falling into anxiety spirals. And the one AI habit that has made me a better advocate for my own health than anything else I’ve tried.
Sunday: How I use AI to prepare for every doctor’s appointment
Tuesday: The plain language medical dictionary — asking AI to explain what your doctor said
Thursday: Building your Personal Health AI System — the complete framework
If you or someone you love is navigating a health situation and feeling overwhelmed by the information — share this channel with them. Next week is built for that exact moment.
Five weeks. Thank you for building this with me. Go enjoy your Saturday — and if you haven’t tried the customer perspective audit on your own business yet, this weekend is the perfect time. 🐾
