Saturday morning. Week 14 complete. This one was heavier to build than most.
Not because the content is alarming — I worked hard to make sure it isn’t. But because the stories that came in from Monday’s reply invitation were more numerous and more specific than I expected. Almost everyone has either had a close call themselves or knows someone who has been successfully scammed. The shame that surrounds those stories keeps most of them private. This week gave people a place to tell them.

✅ The story that stays with mePatricia’s — three days after setting up the verification system. The voice was her son’s. The story was emotionally calibrated. Everything she knew went quiet. And then she said the word. And the line went dead. That is the gap between knowledge and a system: knowledge goes quiet when love takes over. The system doesn’t.
✅ What surprised me about this weekHow many people responded to the comment ask on Tuesday with their own near-miss stories. The scam attempts people are experiencing are not the old-style obviously-Nigerian-prince emails. They are sophisticated, targeted, and often indistinguishable from legitimate communications. The community that is building around this channel is sharing information that is genuinely protecting people.
💭 What I’d build next timeA dedicated piece specifically about what to do when a family member has already been scammed — not the response protocol for the person who was targeted, but the guide for the adult child or trusted friend who finds out after the fact and needs to help without adding shame to an already difficult situation. That conversation needs its own video.

🔭 Week 15 · August 17–23
After two weeks of urgently practical content — paperwork and security — next week turns toward something genuinely expansive.
Week 15 is Solo Travel Planning.
This is one of the topics I’ve been most excited to build since we planned the Phase II sequence. Adults over 60 who travel solo — or who want to and haven’t started yet — face a specific set of planning challenges that AI handles extraordinarily well: building detailed itineraries that account for personal pace and preferences, navigating accessibility considerations without the awkwardness of asking, finding accommodations and transportation options that match specific needs, and handling the safety planning that goes into traveling alone with confidence rather than anxiety.
Sunday: How I planned my first solo trip using AI — and what I would never have thought to include without it
Tuesday: The Solo Travel Planning Method — three steps from destination to departure
Thursday: Your Personal Solo Travel AI System — five components for planning, booking, and traveling with confidence
If you’ve been thinking about a solo trip — or if you know someone who has been putting one off — next week is the week to share. This content is going to be genuinely exciting to build.
