Prompt 1 — Name the Exact Error
“Here’s what’s actually wrong with this: [describe the specific error, a date, a name, a number, a fact, or a formatting issue]. Please correct just that part and leave everything else exactly as it is.”
Use for: any moment you catch something specific that’s off, instead of a vague “this isn’t right”
Prompt 2 — Feed It the Missing Context
“Here’s something you didn’t have when you gave me that answer: [the piece of context you left out, a date change, a preference, a constraint, or a detail about your situation]. Please factor that in and update your answer accordingly.”
Use for: when the answer was wrong because AI was simply missing something only you knew
Prompt 3 — Ask for a Targeted Redo
“Keep everything else exactly as it is. The only thing that needs to change is [the specific part that was wrong]. Please give me the updated version with just that part corrected.”
Use for: getting the fix without losing the parts of the answer that were already right
