Your complete Personal Cognitive Support System — all 5 components (save this) 🐾
Personal Reference Library, Conversation Preparation, Daily Offload, Learning Consolidation, Monthly Check-In. All five. All prompts. One place.
Let me start with the reframe that this whole week is built on — because it changes the tone of everything that follows.
Your brain is not a storage device. It was never meant to hold everything simultaneously. It is a processing system — an extraordinarily powerful one — and it performs best when it has external support for storage so it can focus on processing. The five components below are not compensation for decline. They are the support system that every powerful processing system deserves.

The component to start with today
If you implement only one component this week, make it Component 3 — the Daily Offload Ritual. Five minutes tomorrow morning. Tell AI everything your brain is holding. Let it organize. Let it prioritize. Then close the conversation and start your day.
The reason this one first: the relief of the offload is immediate and visceral. When everything that has been floating in active memory is captured in a reliable external system, the brain physically relaxes. You’ll feel it within the first session. And once you’ve felt it, you’ll want the whole system.
📌 Start Here — Daily Offload Ritual
“Good morning. I want to do my daily cognitive offload. I’m going to tell you everything my brain is currently holding — tasks, reminders, worries, things I don’t want to forget, things I’ve been meaning to do. Please capture everything I tell you, then organize into: TODAY / THIS WEEK / BACKGROUND. After that, give me: (1) My top 3 priorities for today, (2) One thing I can take completely off my mental list. [Begin — I’ll tell you everything now.]”
A note about the Monthly Check-In
Barbara’s story from Wednesday is worth holding onto here. The monthly check-in found a pattern she hadn’t fully articulated to herself. She brought it to her doctor. Everything was fine. But the act of naming it, tracking it, and addressing it calmly — rather than carrying it as private anxiety — was its own relief.
That’s what Component 5 is for. Not to find problems. To stay accurately informed about your own experience, with the language to describe it to a professional if and when that becomes useful.

⬇️ THE 5-COMPONENT PERSONAL COGNITIVE SUPPORT SYSTEM ⬇️
📌 Component 1 — Personal Reference Library
"I want to build a Personal Reference Library. Help me create organized entries for: PEOPLE (name, how I know them, things to remember, last discussed), MEDICAL (conditions, medications, upcoming appointments, questions for doctor), RECURRING INFO (important contacts, regular tasks and details). Format this so I can update it easily after each interaction."
📌 Component 2 — Conversation Preparation System
"I have an upcoming [type of conversation] about [topic]. Please create a Conversation Preparation Card with: (1) What I need to communicate — top 3 things, (2) What I need to learn — my 2 most important questions, (3) A retention framework for organizing what I hear, (4) A post-conversation consolidation prompt to use immediately after."
📌 Component 3 — Daily Offload Ritual
"Good morning. I want to do my daily cognitive offload. I'll tell you everything my brain is holding — tasks, reminders, worries. Please organize into: TODAY / THIS WEEK / BACKGROUND. Then give me: (1) My top 3 priorities for today, (2) One thing I can take completely off my mental list. [Begin — I'll tell you everything now.]"
📌 Component 4 — Learning Consolidation System
"I want to consolidate something I've been learning. Here's the topic and what I know: [describe]. Please: (1) Organize into a structured summary, (2) Ask me 3 questions to check understanding, (3) Suggest a 3-session spaced repetition schedule for the next 2 weeks, (4) Help me connect this to something I already know well."
📌 Component 5 — Monthly Cognitive Check-In
"Time for my monthly cognitive check-in. Ask me honestly, one at a time: (1) What's been working in my support system? (2) Any cognitive tasks that feel harder than last month? (3) Any recurring patterns I've noticed? (4) Anything worth mentioning to my doctor? (5) One adjustment to make this month?"
