A word about the Legacy Letter
I want to spend a moment on Component 5 because I think it’s the most important thing I’ve taught in eight weeks — and possibly the thing most people will skip because it feels daunting.
A Legacy Letter is not a formal document. It’s not long. It doesn’t require perfect writing. It’s simply a letter to someone you love that captures who they are at this specific moment in their life — written by someone who has been watching them with love and attention.
What did you notice in them this year? What are you proud of them for? What do you hope for their future? What do you want them to know you’ve seen?
AI helps you organize the thoughts. The seeing is yours. The love is yours.
Write one this year. To anyone. A child, a grandchild, a friend, a sibling, a partner. Just one. It will be kept.
📌 Legacy Letter Prompt
“I want to write a letter to [person and relationship] that captures who they are right now, at this moment in their life. Here’s what I observe in them: [their character, growth, what they’re going through, what you admire]. Here’s what I want them to know I’ve noticed: [specific observations]. Here’s what I hope for them: [your genuine hope]. Please help me organize these thoughts into a letter. I will rewrite it in my own voice — I just need help finding the structure.”
🎬 Watch today’s Thursday Lecture: The complete walk-through of all five components — including the Legacy Letter scene, which I delivered with genuine care because I mean every word of it.

📌 Component 1 — Inner Circle Map
“Help me create a simple Inner Circle Map of my most important relationships. I want to identify: (1) The people whose absence from my life would matter most, (2) For each: what they mean to me, when I last had a real conversation with them, and one thing I know is happening in their life right now. Ask me about each person one at a time. Then summarize so I can see where my attention needs to go.”
📌 Component 2 — Weekly Connection Check-In
“I want to do my weekly connection check-in. Here are the people in my inner circle and what I know about their week: [brief update on each]. Based on this, who would most benefit from hearing from me this week, and what would be the most meaningful thing to reach out about? Suggest one person and one simple way to connect.”
📌 Component 3 — Memory Keeper
“After my conversation with [person], here’s what I want to remember: [note the things they told you — upcoming events, worries, milestones]. Please organize this into a brief summary I can save. Then remind me what to ask about next time I talk to them.”
📌 Component 4 — Milestone Marker
“I want to acknowledge a milestone for [person and relationship]. Here’s the milestone: [describe]. Here’s what this means to this particular person: [what makes it significant for them]. Here’s what I want them to feel: [seen / celebrated / not alone]. Draft a short, warm, specific message that sounds like it came from someone who actually knows them — because it did.”
📌 Component 5 — Legacy Letter
“I want to write a letter to [person] that captures who they are right now, at this moment in their life. Here’s what I observe in them: [their character, growth, what they’re going through]. Here’s what I want them to know I’ve noticed: [specific observations]. Here’s what I hope for them: [your genuine hope]. Help me organize these thoughts into a letter. I will rewrite it in my own voice.”
