The component I want you to try first
If you start with only one component this week, make it Component 3 — the Story Preservation Method. Not because it’s the most important (though it might be), but because it’s the one that produces the most immediate and surprising result.
Pick one specific memory. Use the prompt. Let AI ask you about the light, the words that were said, what you were feeling at each moment. What happens in that session is genuinely surprising: you will remember more than you thought you remembered. The memory has more in it than you thought. The details were there all along — they just needed the right questions to surface them.
📌 Start Here — Story Preservation Method
“I want to capture a specific memory with enough detail to make it vivid for someone who wasn’t there. The story is: [describe the event or memory in whatever detail you have]. Please help me recover the specific details by asking one question at a time about: what the setting looked, sounded, and felt like physically, what specific words were said that I still remember, what I was thinking and feeling at each key moment, what happened immediately before and after, and what made this moment significant enough to stay with me. Take your time. The details are in there.”
A word about the Wisdom Transfer Practice
Linda’s story from Wednesday — the wisdom letter that helped her daughter choose the work she believed in over the money — is the right frame for Component 4. This is not a general advice document. It is a letter written for one specific person about their specific situation, drawing on your specific experience. The specificity is everything. AI helps you find the right angle and the right language. The experience is irreplaceably yours.
Is there someone in your life right now navigating something you’ve navigated? Write them the letter this week. It takes less time than you think. It lasts longer than you expect.
🎬 Watch today’s Thursday Lecture: The full walk-through of all five components — including the fading library hook that opens the lecture and the “library finally with a catalog” close that brings the week’s arc full circle.
